Women CEOs of Indian Financial Services Sector-An Opinion Survey

Abstract
The position of CEO is the ultimate embodiment of power in the corporate sector. Also, empowerment of women is symbolically achieved when more women reach the position of CEOs. Women CEOs are a rare phenomenon across the globe. The culture of having women CEOs in India is happening across industries and more so in the financial sector, which are possible because of specific characteristics of women as well as other sector-specific features. The financial sector for women can be a role model for other sectors to emulate. Thus, Glass Ceiling has been shattered by women CEOs in the sector and Glass Cliffs are found to be a myth in financial sector.
